Elyse Garcia (b. 1999, Austin, Texas) currently lives and works in Austin, Texas and works primarily in painting and textiles. Garcia graduated in 2022 from the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Studio Art and a minor in Arts Management and Administration. She has exhibited in multiple cities across the United States, including New York City, Washington D.C., and Austin, Texas. Her work aims to use the language that has cultivated within her to manifest and communicate universal truths to others. Learning from the example of foundational abstract and modernist artists, such as Hilma af Klint and Agnes Pelton; she uses color and shape to illustrate magically colorful images. She aims to strike the heart of the viewer no matter their background; to create connections that are utterly human.
